Foster based neonatal rescue in Columbus, Ohio

I founded For the Love of Jane for my sweet girl, Jane. She inspired me to pursue rescue and rehabilitation, specifically with neonatal animals. I started working with neonates in wildlife rehabilitation and then applied many of the techniques I had learned to the care of domestic species. I enjoy using veterinary medicine to make an impact in our community and to ensure adoptable animals are healthy and prepared for adoption.

I have always loved animals, but for most of my life I worked primarily with dogs. Three years ago, a little grey kitten was born under my porch and my journey in the feline world began! Now my forever baby, Marty, opened my eyes to the importance of TNR work and local cat rescues. I began fostering with FTLOJ in 2023 and have had the honor of loving on many furry friends since. I now coordinate and run our community events and our social media pages.

I rescued a mama cat and litter in my Chicago hometown in 2022, rehoming the kittens and getting them veterinary care on my own. This was very challenging! When I moved to Ohio for veterinary school, I wanted to continue this work under a non-profit that puts animal welfare first. Enter

 FTLOJ! After fostering mama cats and their litters, weaned kittens, and neonatal kittens for over a year, I joined FTLOJ leadership as general board member and Treasurer to make an even larger impact. Beyond being completely obsessed with rescue and improving little lives, I’m motivated by sustainability. Outdoor cats are effectively an invasive species. I’m privileged to work with this knowledgeable, caring team to improve community health, decreasing outdoor populations via spay/neuter and rehoming, and healing our most vulnerable kittens and puppies.

On my journey to veterinary school, I found myself bottle feeding orphaned deer and other wildlife through a certified rehabber. I fell in love with neonates of every species and I became no stranger to baby emergencies and medical care. My cat, Roman, was my first ever kitten bottle baby foster and she completely hooked me on rescue. I got involved with FTLOJ soon after starting my degree in Veterinary Medicine. After 2 years and fostering over 30 neonates, I became a board member. I am so happy to contribute to a team that gives tiny babies the love and care they deserve!
