Adoption Guidelines: 

• We only accept applications for animals that are available for adoption on Petfinder. Please do not apply early as your application will not be accepted. 

• There is a $5 application fee. We will not process your application without the application fee.​

• All young kittens must be adopted out to a home with other companion animals or in pairs. There are no exceptions. 

• Our adoption contracts prohibit declawing for cats and kittens adopted from FTLOJ. 

• All puppies/young dogs adopted from FTLOJ are required to be enrolled in training classes after adoption. We will provide you with positive reinforcement trainer recommendations.

• All cats and dogs in the applicant's home must be spayed or neutered, with a few allowable exceptions with documentation (show dogs, working dogs, medical conditions, etc.).

• All cats and dogs in the applicant's home must be up to date on yearly preventative wellness care in accordance with your own vet's recommendations.

    • Dogs: Rabies, DAPP, Bordetella​

    • Cats: Rabies and FVRCP 

  • Recommended lab work

    • Fecal testing ​

    • Heartworm testing

    • Blood work panel

    • FIV/FeLV testing 

• Apply only when you have made a thoughtful decision to adopt a pet. Pet ownership is a serious commitment.
